Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the many opportunities in and around Batesville. Fishing is permitted in city reservoirs; in fact, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources stocks them, in part, for this purpose.
The Parks and Recreation Board oversees many well-manicured city parks, which accommodate anything from family reunions, state-of-the-art playground equipment, horseshoe pits, volleyball, tennis, baseball and softball, or just relaxing during a musical performance in one of the pavilions during the summer months.

Liberty Park is the focal point of the park system and a highlight of our community. The pavilion features a large covered area with a fireplace, kitchen and rest rooms. This is the "happening" place in Batesville during the months of March - October. There is a baseball complex (know all over Southeastern Indiana), tennis court, horseshoe pits, volleyball court and a large playground.
This park offers a gazebo and six shelters that can be used on a first come - first serve basis, or to be on the safe side, can be reserved. For more information contact Beth at 933-6100 or email: bwest@batesvilleindiana.us . |
