The Batesville Police Department is made up of 12 sworn officers and 6 civilian employees, all dedicated to providing the highest quality of law enforcement to the people of our community. With a population estimated at just over 6000 residents, we have maintained a calm and peaceful community. We are located approximately 45 miles northwest of Cincinnati, Ohio along Interstate I-74. While we provide a safe environment for business growth and development with the latest of technology, we are proud that our community still retains its small town feel. We have always worked closely with our local residents, schools, businesses and other governmental agencies to solve problems and prevent crime.

A group of citizens have recently come together to form the Batesville Main Street Board. Our Board’s goal is to help Batesville become more economically successful while still maintaining our small-town feel with a beautiful and vibrant downtown that attracts both visitors and current residents.
In a few weeks the board will be meeting to develop a strategic plan with specific work plans for each Main Street Committee: Organizational; Promotion; Design & Planning; and Economic Restructuring. We have already gathered data and information from previous workgroups the city has assembled. We also want input from community members like you as we develop these work plans.
